William F Mackenzie

Founder, Chairman, CEO

William Mackenzie has over 25 years of international experience in CEO, Sales/Marketing, Engineering and Operations functions. Mr. Mackenzie has served as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Management roles in both public and private companies ranging from small, innovative start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. These roles include helping create and build one of the fastest growing semiconductor companies, which went public in 2001 with a market cap of $3B, 4 years after the inception, to restructuring and managing the transition of troubled private and public companies (Novalux Inc. and Arasor International Limited), to Growing companies and preparing them for purchase (Oxford Semiconductor and LSI Logic Corporation of Canada Inc). Prior to this Mr. Mackenzie served as a Senior Director with LSI Logic Corporation in Sales, Quality and Engineering functions. Mr. Mackenzie started his career in engineering roles at Motorola Semiconductors in the UK and holds a degree in Applied Physics with high honors from University of Strathclyde in Scotland.

Michael Finander

Founder, Director of Manufacturing

Michael Finander has over 25 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience. Mr. Finander began his career at Coherent Inc., a world leader in photonics-based products where he worked for 20 years. At Coherent he managed the implementation of a worldwide supply-chain business system that integrated 14 manufacturing and distribution sites across the globe that generated over 400 million dollars of revenue. As Vice President of Operations for the new Semiconductor Group, he oversaw the creation of a facility and operation plan to produce a profitable 40-million-dollar revenue stream of semiconductor-based high-powered lasers. He joined Novalux Inc. in late 2005. There, his roles were to implement business-system architecture and procedures to support prototype engineering sales as well as an outsourced, high-volume manufacturing line. This included directing the support and training for the transfer of key technologies to manufacturing partners. His work at Necsel continues to support the established, full supply-chain architecture for the Fab-less, CM-based, Necsel laser technology. Mr. Finander holds a degree in Biophysics from University of California at Berkeley as well as APICS certifications and misses good pastrami sandwiches from Katz’s Deli on the lower East side of Manhattan.

Ushio Inc.

Ushio Inc. started out in 1964 as a manufacturer of industrial light sources and has since evolved into a "creator of light" that offers light source units, devices, systems and light solutions. These products have been developed around core technologies for new light sources and optical systems that eventually have expanded to encompass unique application technologies. Ushio America Inc.

Established in 1967 as a subsidiary of USHIO Inc., Japan, UAI has two manufacturing sites in North America, and now offers over 3,500 items to a variety of industries and markets; General Lighting, Specialty Lighting, Semiconductor, Entertainment, to name a few. UAI is focused on becoming the number one lighting solutions provider in the Americas through superior service to its customers. UAI serves as an ultimate parent company in the Americas within USHIO group.


Ushio Opto-Semiconductor

With over 30 years of considerable experience in the photonics industry, the Ushio Opto-Semiconductor laser devices provide a wide product selection of wavelengths from violet to red and infrared in support of a broad range of applications. These applications include display, medical, biosciences, industrial tools(sensor, leveler), machine vision, scanners, printers and a myriad of other applications being developed in the industry. UOS is headquartered in Japan and is a subsidiary of Ushio Inc.
